The 18 inch rear is the enduro and trail wheel: the KTM EXC and XC-W, Husqvarna TE and FE, GasGas EC, Yamaha WR, Honda CRF X and the farm and adventure bikes. Common sizes are 110/100-18 and 120/90-18 on a full size enduro bike and 140/80-18 or 150/70-18 on the bigger adventure bikes.
Most of what is here is an enduro tyre (AT82, IT Desert, DOT knobbies), but a few motocross tyres come in 18 inch for the riders who race an enduro bike on a motocross track.

The taller sidewall of an 18 inch tyre flexes over rocks and roots at low pressure and resists pinch flats, which matters more in the bush than the quicker steering of a 19. The rims are not interchangeable: an 18 inch tyre needs an 18 inch rim.
Read it off the sidewall of the tyre on the bike now, for example 80/100-21. The last number is the rim and must match; the width is a choice within what the rim allows. Full size motocross bikes run 80/100-21 front and 110/90-19 or 120/80-19 rear; enduro bikes run a 120/90-18 or 140/80-18 rear.
A mousse is a foam insert that cannot go flat and runs at a fixed 12 to 13 psi feel; it is the racer and hard enduro choice and wears out in 6 to 12 months. A heavy duty tube is cheaper, runs any pressure and is fine for trail riding. Either way, carry a tube and levers.
Not always, but a tyre change is the cheapest moment to fit one, and a pinched or thin old tube is the usual reason a new tyre goes flat on the first ride. Heavy duty tubes for enduro, standard for motocross. Tubes are in their own category.
